The mission of Sojourner House Domestic Violence Program is

to provide a comprehensive program of crisis intervention,

counseling, advocacy and shelter for victims

of domestic violence in Mahoning County.

Sojourner House is operated by Burdman Group, Inc., an Ohio-based, charitable, nonprofit organization, which has been in existence since 1970.

On September 19, 1991, Burdman Group began the Sojourner House Battered Persons Crisis Program. Sojourner House is an unincorporated subdivision of Burdman Group, Inc. and is Mahoning County's only protective shelter. The shelter since then has changed its name to Sojourner House Domestic Violence Program.
